SOUTH NEWFANE
COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
South Newfane Community Association
WHAT WE DO
The South Newfane Community Association (SNCA), is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to building community, and welcoming all Newfane residents.
The SNCA owns and maintains the South Newfane Schoolhouse for use as a community gathering space and event venue. From weddings and concerts, to yoga and Qigong classes, the Schoolhouse is available for use by South Newfane residents by donation.
In an average year, the schoolhouse small parties, classes, or meetings of local groups, with dozens of visits from locals needing space to pursue personal projects, as well as activating the space to build community through free events such as concerts, open houses, and holiday events.
All these things have happened at the schoolhouse in the past few years.
Rock River Artist Tour
Home to the The Rock River Artist tour, it was 100% back this year with a terrific turn out which helps support not just the Schoolhouse, but our local artists as well.
Community Concerts
We host community concerts which are free to all, while accepting donations to embark on some major work for preservation, and a new accessibility ramp project.
The GHOULHouse
We transform the Schoolhouse into the South Newfane GHOULhouse for Halloween each year to decorate the building as a placemaking activity for a fun celebration.
Snowglobe
The Schoolhouse Snowglobe is created each year with hundreds of handmade paper snowflakes contributed by dozens of community members.
Little Library
We have designated a portion of the building to the Little Free Library. Completely free and open for anyone from Newfane to use and enjoy. It even includes a collection of works from local authors and poets.
